TELERADIOLOGY

Teleradiology is the transmission of radiological patient images, such as X-rays, CT scans, Ultrasounds, Nuclear images, and MRIs, from one geographical location to another for the purpose of sharing studies with other radiologists and physicians for interpretation, diagnosis, and consultation purposes. It allows images to be viewed simultaneously by various users in different locations. The main applications of Teleradiology are to provide radiological expertise at remote sites, like in rural areas or at places where full time radiologists are not available, more quickly than would otherwise be possible.

Benefits of Teleradiology:

Reduced cost – Radiology expenses are less. No fixed expense, pay per case model which allows you to pay for only the number of cases you have sent for teleradiology interpretation. Hospitals of all sizes can benefit from the strategic use of Teleradiology solutions. Reduced radiology costs, immediate imaging results, and improved access all make a hospital or radiology diagnostic centres more competitive and better able to serve the needs of their patients.

Expertise – Ability to access subspecialty reading. Efficiency is significantly improved. Second opinion from SME (subject matter expert) radiologists like neuro-radiologist or onco-radiologist from the USA, UK and/or Australia are available for hospitals and diagnostic centres as well as patients at reasonable cost in critical cases, which gives you complete satisfaction and peace of mind.

Increased coverage – Coverage for less desirable work shifts is provided – we work 24 x 7 x 365, no holidays. Hospitals and Diagnostic centres can have increased income by offering round the clock service to its patients.

Hassle-free staffing – Radiology departments are under staffed in most sub-urban and rural hospitals and diagnostic centres. With the increase of dependency on radiology interpretations by the physicians and especially by the surgeons before an operation – the demand for radiology is ever increasing. The gap between demand and supply of quality radiologists is ever increasing. So, the dependency on teleradiology gives you a hassle-free staffing as radiologists are available 24 x 7, even on weekends, holidays and night shifts.

Quick Turnaround Time – There is an acute shortage of radiologists in government hospitals, district hospitals, rural health centres, diagnostic centres in sub-urban and rural areas. As a result, images are often not interpreted by radiologists in a timely manner which delays patient care. Teleradiology can provide quick Turnaround Time for the reports, whereby non-urgent cases can be reported in 3 to 4 hours and Emergency cases can be reported in 1 hour.

Quality Patient Care – Reporting by qualified, experienced sub-specialized radiologists which helps in accurate interpretations thereby improving patient care. Emergency cases are reported within an hour, potentially saving patient’s life. In addition, via Teleradiology a clinical radiologist may seek a second opinion from a specialist without transferring the patient, thus minimizing patient discomfort and improving the efficiency of service delivery.

Educational Opportunities – Teleradiology provides educational opportunities for physicians and radiologists to learn and expand their ability within the field. The technology can be particularly helpful as an educational device through presentations from clinical radiologists or other knowledgeable health care experts in the field.

Our Services:

Day Teleradiology – We provide day time teleradiology coverage to hospitals and imaging centres across the globe. We can generate reports with turnaround time (TAT) starting from 45 to 60 minutes for Emergency cases and 6 to 8 hours for non-Emergency cases.

Night Coverage – We provide radiology night coverage for hospitals and imaging centres. For majority of the hospitals and imaging centres, maintaining an in-house team of radiologists for night coverage is a burden and night duty is one of the prominent reasons for losing full time radiology professionals. Making oneself available for night shifts even on an on-call basis makes life difficult for the radiologists and cannot be continued for a long time.

Sub-Specialty Opinion – We offer hospitals and imaging centres across the world with sub-specialty expertise in a wide range of radiographic modalities. Our radiologists from the USA, the UK, Australia, UAE, and India offer their service in interpreting sub-specialty and complex cases arriving at your centre. We offer our sub-specialty services in cardiac imaging (including echocardiography and ECG), Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI, neuroradiology, nuclear scans, musculoskeletal studies, DEXA scans, mammography, etc.

Second Opinion – Our second read or over read services by expert sub-specialty USA based ABRs help both individuals and radiology practices in maintaining high standards. Our second opinion service is helpful for individuals also who wish to have a second opinion on their diagnostic study at a reasonable cost. There is no need to travel miles for an expert’s opinion – just ask us for the Second Opinion service, choose from our list of expert sub-specialized radiologists, upload the images in our PACS system, and make the payment – within 48 hours your reports will be ready.

Peer Review – Our USA based ABRs and UK based FRCR team of radiologists provide Peer Review service for eminent hospitals around the world, which helps them to audit the quality of their reporting and making their reports of international standards. These Peer Reviews are required for receiving and maintaining various quality standards like — the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), NABH, ISO, etc.
